RESEARCH

- University of Rochester’s Batten Center Receives $1.2 Million from National Institutes of Health  (New)

- An article published by the University of Rochester Medical Center cited the Foundation as a contributor to the Batten's research effort. Please give it a read as we were very excited to see the work towards a cure for Batten's move forward:
Understanding How the Cellular "Garbage Disposal" Grinds to a Halt to Cause Rare, Fatal Childhood Disease

- An article published by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in December 2003 cited the Foundation as a contributor to the Batten's research effort. A Role in Vacuolar Arginine Transport for Yeast Btn1p and for Human CLN3, the Protein Defective in Batten disease 

EDUCATION

-Worked with Publicist Lisa Smith to help in educating the public to our cause. We have since done an interview on a nationally syndicated Radio Show and a television interview. with the local CBS affiliate in College Station.
